This is a podroll, an index of podcasts I like, and think might be worth your time to check out.
- The Film Reroll plays through movies as roll playing games and completely ruins them; and it's a true delight every time... even when you haven't seen the movie in question!
- Hardcore History is the longest standing show in my feed, and presumably needs no introduction; audiobook-length deep dives into historical stories by the inimitable (and idiosyncratic) Dan Carlin
- Lets Know Things is a news analysis podcast, which takes a recent news topic and provides a bit of summary and context for it
- Lingthusiasm is a podcast about linguistics, and is always a joy to listen to, and typically very informative too
- The Soundtrack Show takes a deep dive into the soundtrack of movies and video games, drawing a deep theoretical analysis of each piece of media it spotlights
- Normal Gossip is a show about gossip, that tells real-life (anonymised) stories that are almost always utterly hysterical
- Worlds Beyond Number is the first Dungeons & Dragons actual play podcast that I've been able to get into; it's really well produced, and it serves as a fix for when I've not seen any Dimension 20 in a while
The following are no longer active, but I'm still listening to their work:
- Some Families was a podcast hosted by two parents who talked about parenting and family life through the lens of being queer
- Monstrous Agonies was a fictional advice column podcast for creatures of the night; it's often relevant to real life, and has a really cosy feeling about it
